1. Establish the current cycle time, volume, error types, and ownership before changing the work.
2. Define the outcome hypothesis in operational terms such as response speed, rework, backlog age, or decision latency.
3. Require human review where accuracy, money, customers, or compliance are at stake.
4. Compare post-change measures to the baseline and revise the workflow when the evidence requires it.
